A graphical PING without the flaws!

Site Response is a standalone Windows tool that will notify you when a website is contactable. It is easy to use and requires no installation.

To use it:

  • Download the tool from this site (link coming!)
  • Double-click on the siteresponse.exe file.
  • Enter the hostname or I/P address of the site you are querying.
  • Use the switch button to select between Wait for Response or Repetitive PING modes (see below).
Press here to start scanning.
Once started, Site Response will continually scan the supplied hostname\IP address and will display 'Yes' if the site can be reached.
Or 'No' if the site is unreachable.
Cancel the scan at any time by pressing the cancel button.

Tip: You can open multiple instances of Site Response to scan for multiple hosts!

Modes of Operation

Performs the same function as PING mywebsite.com -t but will continue to do so even if the hostname cannot be resolved (whereas PING will respond with a "Ping request could not find host mywebsite.com" error). Also, in my experience a continuous PING in Windows (particularly Windows 10 or 11) sometimes stalls so you are not actually seeing the up-to-date result of the request. The scan result can also easily be seen at a distance in real time; useful if you’re stuck up a ladder trying to find a connectivity problem in a comms cabinet!

Will continue pinging the hostname and on connection will play an audio notification so you will know instantly when the host is contactable. This is particularly helpful when making DNS changes on services such as Cloudflare as you will know instantly when the changes have been propagated; freeing you up to work on other projects.

Important! As the program been packed for portable use, antivirus software may report it as being infected; this is a false positive. Please add an exclusion for this program to your antivirus software.
